Forum Rules & Guidelines
Do not hijack threads: If you wish to talk about something else please start a new thread in the appropriate section. If a thread goes too far off-topic, a moderator may request that the discussion be put back on-topic, or in extreme cases the thread may be closed.
Cite your news sources: When posting news articles or anything you didn’t write, wrap the text in quote tags and cite your sources by providing a URL to the original content. Please follow up with your own opinion of the story.
Blatant Spamming, Trolling, and Advertising: Violators will be permanently banned at ESD staff discretion.
Posting of other’s private info: Sharing of personal information or private data (such as chat logs, IM conversations, email, or private messages) involving other members without their consent is strictly prohibited. Failure to comply may result in an infraction or ban. This includes sharing such information outside of the ESD Forum, such as on Facebook, Instant Messenger, etc.
Illegal, sexual, or violent content: Posting or linking to any content that is illegal, sexually explicit, pornographic, or otherwise inappropriate in nature (including overly violent material) is prohibited. Content will be removed immediately and the offender may be banned at the discretion of the staff.
Excessive Flaming: Racist, sexist, hateful, or overly offensive actions are not allowed. Certain topics are more prone to heated debates. While directly insulting or harassing other members is discouraged, you should avoid posting in these threads if you do not have thick skin. Infractions will be given out at staff’s discretion.
Addressing conflicts with ESD or its staff: If you have an issue with ESD as a whole or an individual staff member of ESD, please contact a moderator directly. We will do our best to resolve it with you in private. Making a public spectacle of such a conflict will not be tolerated. Repeat or blatant offenders will be subject to either a temporary or permanent ban, depending on the severity of the incident.
Do not contribute to public conflict: If you see a thread or post such as that described in the previous rule, please do not reply to it. Instead, please use the report button to alert a staff member of its existence. While ESD has every intention to diffuse and resolve such situations, contributing to a public thread without knowing all of the facts makes it much more difficult for us to do so in a timely and professional manner.
Rules and Policy Changes: We reserve the right to change or update our rules and privacy policies at any time. It is your responsibility to keep current on changes, site announcements, adjustments, and modifications made to these rules.
